Landmarks – SJSS

1993           :      Registration of St. Joseph’s Service Society under Registration Act, 1860.

1996           :      Land foundation stone for San Joe Puram children’s village and San Joe Rehab Centre (Mariabhavan).

1997           :      Infant Jesus nursery.

1998           :      Infant Jesus School, hospital, mobile clinic, Ranisadan, Jeevandhara, Vinayalaya, Chavara vocational training centre for women, poultry and fishery training units.

1999           :      St. Mary’s Children’s home, sumitra hospital at Mandauti, disability camp for distribution of aids & appliances at San Joe Puram.

2000           :      Community hall, new building for Infant Jesus School, new block for hospital, disability survey, CBR programmes, adult literacy programme (60 non formal literacy classes in 10 villages).

2001           :      Women’s self groups in 8 villages, Balamelas (village level summer festivals), CBR training for the village animators, health camps in the villages.

2002           :      Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), departments of physiotherapy, occupation theraphy, dental, hearing & speech therapy and eye clinic at Bethzatha hospital, computer education and departments of music & dance in the school, computerized embroidery at Chavara vocational Institute for Physically Handicapped (New Delhi), Balwadi Programmes in 9 villages, self help groups for persons with disabilities in 5 villages.

2003           :      2nd Diability Camp for distribution of aids and appliances at San Joe Puram, village libraries in 10 villages, training of teachers on inclusive education, computer education for visually impaired and mentally challenged, addition of five new class rooms to the school, new website for St. Joseph’s Service Society (www.sjssindia.com), rural camps for the student social workers of Delhi School of Social Work and the Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

2004           :      Rural camps of the Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia. 45 Women’s self help groups in 10 villages, Balmelas, Village Libraries. CBR training for the village animators, health camps in the villages.

2005           :      65 Women’s self help groups, Balmelas, Village Libraries, School affiliation to CBSE, Sanjoepuram SHG Federation. NABARD training for the SHG leaders, eye camps in the villages.
